Potentially hazardous industrial facilities subject to insurance:

pressure vessels and boilers, steam pipelines;
gas distribution and fuel supply installations and equipment: fuel filling/storage stations;
facilities for storing, drying and processing grain and fruit: mills, elevators, dryers;
lifting installations: elevators, cranes, overhead cranes;

facilities for producing and storing hazardous substances: ethyl alcohol, chlorine, paints/varnishes;
facilities of ore extraction industries and quarry works;
other facilities – as per the Nomenclature/annex to Legea nr. 151.

Useful information

The sum insured is established following an assessment of the risks that the industrial facility may pose. In the case of hazardous substance transport, the values are set by estimating the maximum possible damage in the event of an accident.
The amount of the insurance premium is set according to the insurer's tariff plan, taking into account:
- the type of industrial facility / potentially hazardous technical installation;
- the factors of its operation, and the receiving, use, processing and storage on-site of hazardous substances in certain volumes;
- the hazard level of the industrial facility/potentially hazardous technical installation, according to the legislation;
- the territory and location of the facilities.
The contract is concluded on the basis of the Application–Questionnaire, to which the following are attached:
- The list of industrial/production facilities for which insurance is requested;
- Documents describing the facilities/installations (technical inspection report, expert assessment documents, proof of compliance with safety standards, etc.);
- A copy of the insured's registration certificate;
- A copy of the extract from the State Register of Legal Entities of the insured.

The insured event consists in the occurrence of the insured risk – a future, possible but uncertain event, provided for by the insurance contract, upon the occurrence of which the insurer becomes obliged to pay compensation, within the limits of liability stated in the Insurance Contract, if:
Upon the occurrence of the insured event, the insured is obliged to:
- Notify the insurer in writing immediately, but no later than 48 hours from the moment the alleged insured risk occurred.
- Immediately notify the authorities responsible for investigating the circumstances and establishing the causes of the insured event;
- Request that the competent authorities issue the document confirming the occurrence of the insured event;
- Draw up the notification regarding the insured event that occurred, which must be signed and dated. In the event of a dispute, the insured must provide proof of the notification. The notification must indicate: the details of the insurance contract, the insured object, the cause of the risk and an approximate assessment of the extent of the damage, and the date and time of its registration. The notification must also indicate any cases of negative impact (for example, uninsured risks, if any) on the insured objects;
- Keep the damaged property/objects in the condition in which they are found after the event, to allow the insurer to determine its causes and the extent of the damage. The inspection of the insured objects to establish the cause of the insured risk and the amount of damage is carried out only with the participation of the insurer's representative.
