Medical insurance abroad is an absolute must for any stay outside the country. You may have planned your vacation down to the last detail, but everything can go wrong in a matter of seconds, since you never know how your body will react to the specific climate, temperature, or culinary particularities of the country you are visiting.
Whether it's a family trip, a business trip, or work abroad, medical insurance guarantees you free access to healthcare services in the event of an accident, illness, or other situations that may affect your health
If such an emergency occurs, you can focus better on resolving it, without worrying about the budget. In addition, travel medical insurance has a low price for the risks it covers. The cost of medical services abroad can be hundreds of times higher than the cost of a medical policy that covers all these procedures free of charge.
In the case of serious emergencies, such as surgical interventions, costs can even exceed 50,000 Euro in Europe. Insurance specialists from Groupama say that in the United States and Canada, medical services can cost even double those in Europe.
Medical insurance can be taken out by any person who is temporarily traveling abroad and who is domiciled in the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The insurance period can range from one day to one year
Important! The insurance contract is not valid in the country where the insured holds a residence visa and/or citizenship. If the insurance policy is purchased after the insured event has occurred, the insurance company's experts have every capability to detect such fraud, and the payment of your compensation will be cancelled. The insurer's liability begins on the date stated in the policy as the start date of the insurance validity period, but not before crossing the border to travel abroad. The insurer's liability ends on the date the validity period stated in the insurance policy expires, or the moment the insured crosses the border into the Republic of Moldova.
RAPIDASIG recommends that you hold travel medical insurance abroad, valid for the entire period of your stay outside the country! In the absence of medical insurance, all expenses for restoring your health will be paid out of your own pocket.

If during your trip you need medical assistance, you must contact the Assistance Center at one of the numbers stated on your insurance policy
During the call, provide the following details:
Act according to the operator's guidance. They will direct you to the nearest authorized hospital or medical institution that can help with the situation. The expenses will be paid by the assistance company.
The assistance service operators are available 24/7 and serve clients in Romanian and Russian as well.
If you have paid for medical services yourself in the country where you are located, within 24 hours of payment you are required to contact the Assistance Center and report the amount of the expenses.
Important! If you cover the expenses yourself – when visiting the doctor – ask to be given a medical report stating:
If you purchase medication or pay for treatments and procedures that were not prescribed by a doctor, you will not be able to obtain compensation for their cost from the insurance company.
When paying for the cost of medication, treatments, and medical procedures, keep all receipts, vouchers, and invoices , in order to be able to prove the expenses incurred to the insurance company!
Upon returning to the country, you must contact the insurance company as soon as possible (within a maximum of 30 calendar days from the end of treatment) to obtain the compensation payment. If the compensation claim is not submitted within this deadline, the insurer reserves the right to refuse payment of the compensation.
Expenses incurred in geographical areas or time periods not stated in the policy are not reimbursed, nor are those for treatments or procedures carried out for illnesses or conditions that existed prior to taking out the policy.
